UK Power Networks Planned works in Martham

Notice of new transformer installation project at Martham Primary Substation – Work starts in February 2025.

It is expected that in mid-February UK Power Networks will take delivery of and install a new transformer in the substation. Location of substation: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Vxayd3DtBYEotP4W9 It will mean taking a delivery vehicle over part of Green 2.

Our Chair, Bob Fossey has met with the people running the project to make sure they take a route that won’t damage the trees and will protect the grass as far as possible.

24th Feb update:

Update on new transformer installation project at Martham Primary Substation – Work starts in February 2025.

Tomorrow we were planning on our Transformer arriving at Martham and I can advise that this will now NOT go ahead as planned. Unfortunately, we have encountered a number of issues in having the unit released from Southampton Port.

Currently, our plan is to now have this delivered on Wednesday 26 February (time tbc), however, this is still subject to it being released by the Port Authorities

We will be speaking to those residents close by and will provide you an update as information becomes available. Any update you could give via your own social media channels would be much appreciated.

My apologies for any inconvenience caused and if thereare any concerns from any residents, please do directtowards myself
