Policing update:

The following is a local policing update for the Rural Flegg Villages neighbourhood

Weekly crime summary 11 October 2016

Norfolk Constabulary has received a small number of reports of individuals and groups of youths dressing up as clowns and attempting to scare people

This is a craze which has recently provoked a significant amount of media attention and whilst it may seem harmless, it is actually quite frightening for those who experience it.

It will not be tolerated and anyone caught with the intention of causing alarm, harassment or distress will be dealt with robustly.

There have been no arrests of this nature in the Great Yarmouth neighbourhood; however, a 30-year-old male has been given a caution for committing Public Order offences when he dressed as a clown and jumped out from behind a tree in Eaton Park in Norwich on Sunday evening, frightening a lone female victim

Our teams have been briefed about this subject and we would ask anyone who witnesses anything which causes them concern to contact the police on 101.
