Policing update:

Please be vigilant after further reports of cold callers impersonating a police officer from Scotland Yard.

Callers are purporting to be from Scotland Yard Police and demand withdrawal of large amounts of cash from banks.

Police are urging members of the public to be vigilant when dealing with cold callers and that genuine police officers/staff would never approach residents in this manner or ask them to withdraw money.

Anyone with concerns about such calls should contact Norfolk Police on the non-emergency number 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress. Alternatively, contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

 

Police Seeking Witnesses:

A 37-year-old motorcycle rider, who died following a two vehicle road traffic collision in Blundeston, has been formally named as Nigel Last, of Aldeby near Beccles.

 

Police were called by the East of England Ambulance Service around 11:35am, Monday 28 August, to reports a motorcycle had been in collision with a Vauxhall Corsa on the A47 Yarmouth Road, near the Market Lane junction.

 

The northbound A47 was closed at Rackhams Corner for a collision investigation to take place and reopened shortly before 5pm.

 

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage of the incident are asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting CAD 170 of 28 August.

Public Meeting with Local Police:

Please be aware the Caister Costal Villages & Rural Flegg Villages ‘Safer Neighbourhoods Action Priority’ meeting is arranged for Wednesday 13th September 2017 at 19:00 hrs. at The  Community Centre, Playing Field Lane, Martham, NR29 4SP.

This is a public meeting where local policing issues and priorities are discussed and prioritised with local officers and local residents.

Police Warning:

Warning to residents following further cold caller incident
Officers are reminding Norfolk residents to be vigilant following a further cold caller incident yesterday, Wednesday 16 August.

The victim has been called by a male purporting to be a “DCI Jack Wells” from Scotland Yard Police and has demanded she withdraw a large amount of cash from banks in Acle and Wroxham. The male then stated that someone would come and meet her afterwards to collect the money.

The warning comes after previous calls received by a number of residents in the Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and Potter Heigham areas.

Appeal to trace owners of suspected stolen bikes

Police have released images of suspected stolen bikes in a bid to reunite them with their rightful owners

Four bikes were recovered on Thursday 6 July 2017 and officers believe they have been stolen from the Magdalen area of Gorleston

Despite enquiries, police have been unable to identify who the property belongs to, so they’re appealing for anyone who may be able to help to come forward

An image of the bikes is attached to this email.  If you believe you may be able to help identify the owners of the property please contact PC Jordan Hardy at Gorleston Police Station on 101.

Wanted appeal – Daniel Parsons

Police are appealing for help from the public to trace a man who is wanted.

22-year-old Daniel Parsons is wanted on recall to prison after breaching the terms of his licence.

It’s believed he has connections with the Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Dereham, Fakenham and Peterborough areas.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Parsons should call Norfolk Police immediately on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Norfolk on the look-out for new Special Constables

New recruits are being sought to join Norfolk’s team of more than 200 committed Special Constables.

Norfolk’s Special Constabulary is hosting a recruitment evening on Tuesday 27th June 2017 at 7pm in The Forum, Norwich.

The county currently has some 222 special constables who regularly give up their spare time to assist their regular police colleagues in the fight against crime.

Norfolk continues to be on the look-out for committed individuals who are keen to experience the world of policing while supporting their local community.

Specials manager Sue Goode, said: “Being a Special is a very fulfilling and interesting role where no two duties are the same.

“They are entrusted with considerable responsibilities and every time they come on duty they face the same challenges and problems encountered by regular officers.

“We are very proud of the team we currently havein Norfolk and we would be keen for anyone who may be keen togain new skills ortogive something back to their community to get in touch.

“Whatever your motivation, becoming a Special can be exciting, challenging and rewarding.”

The role of a Special Constable includes providing highly visibility patrols and helping police major incidents and events. They also offer vital links in the partnership between the police service and the public.
