The following is a local policing update for the Rural Flegg Villages neighbourhood

 Weekly crime summary 11 – 17 March 2015

Over the last week a number of drug enforcement warrants have been executed across the Borough, tackling criminality associated with drug activities and hitting the supply chain where it hurts.

We will always take positive action against illegal drug activity where possible and we would urge anyone with concerns in their community to contact us.  Any information will be dealt with sensitively.

Anyone concerned about illegal drug activity should contact their local policing team on 101 or alternatively information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Parish Council has heard this morning that they were successful with a grant application for £1,052 from the Shelroy Charitable Trust Fund through the Norfolk Community Foundation.

This funding is to equip the kitchen at the Community Centre to allow refreshments and catering to be available to those hiring the hall.

We have just heard that the Village Sign should be back in the Village on Saturday – watch that space!

Big Election Debate

Young people from across Norfolk will be given the chance to put questions direct to general election candidates at a special Big Election Debate to be held at the Open venue in the city on April 15 from 6 – 8pm. Five Norfolk youth organisations have teamed up to give young people the chance to put local politicians on the spot at the Big Election Debate, aimed specifically at a youth audience

The event is a partnership between YMCA Norfolk, Map, The Benjamin Foundation, Break and the Open Youth Venue.  The free-to-attend evening will be chaired by ITV journalist and news presenter Jonathan Wills.

Toby Coke (UKIP), Lesley Graham (Greens), Norman Lamb (Liberal Democrats), Clive Lewis (Labour) and Chloe Smith (Conservatives) have accepted an invitation to attend, listen and answer questions and concerns raised by young people.

The event is free to attend but attendees must sign up and get a ticket through Eventbrite

This is an opportunity for all members of the village to take part in producing a forward thinking document to influence the future of the village. It will look at issues such as planning, infrastructure, facilities, community opportunities, and will then give a blueprint for organisations and the Parish Council to work towards.
