Breydon Water deaths confirmed as not suspicious

We can confirm the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were discovered at Breydon Water, Great Yarmouth last week are not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Thursday 29 September after a member of the public reported seeing two bodies on the mud flats, later recovered with assistance from colleagues at the Coastguard and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Officers have identified the man and woman, a couple aged in their early 60s and from the local area and are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

A file will be prepared for the Her Majesty’s coroner in due course.

Great Yarmouth drug dealers sentenced for supplying heroin

Two drug dealers supplying heroin in Great Yarmouth have been jailed for a total of almost seven years following an undercover police operation.
Nathan Varley, 38 and Miguel Montique, 21, were arrested after police officers raided a property in Stephenson Close in the town in May this year where heroin with a street value of £3,500 was seized. Cash, mobile phones and two machetes were also discovered inside the property.
The raid was the result of a five-week undercover operation by the Tactical Unit; officers acting on intelligence carried out surveillance of the suspects and observed the pair using the property as a base for drug dealing.
Both Varley and Monitque were found at the property during the raid and were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. They were each later charged with conspiracy to supply heroin between 6 April and 11 May in Great Yarmouth.
Varley, of Stephenson Close, Yarmouth, and Montique, of Gloucester Road, London, pleaded guilty and were sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment at Norwich Crown Court.
