Norfolk Day is taking place on Saturday 27 July. To mark the occasion all councils in Norfolk are coming together to complete a relay cycle ride on Friday 26 July to promote their collective support for the day, with the clear message that all councils across the County are working together.
A team of cyclists will travel approximately 170 miles carrying a Norfolk flag with them on their epic journey. On arrival at each local authority HQ, the Chairman or a senior representative of that council will sign the flag to show their support for Norfolk Day. A rider from their council will then start the next leg of the relay. A support vehicle will be provided by Pedal Revolution which will be on hand to supply bike maintenance, first aid and mobile tracking for the team.
The cycle relay will start at South Norfolk Council and go on to all councils in Norfolk in the following order:
Great Yarmouth Borough Council
North Norfolk District Council
Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk
Breckland District Council
Norwich City Council
Broadland District Council
Norfolk County Council
County Hall to the EDP Offices in Norwich
This is the second time that the County has celebrated Norfolk Day. Last year people from across not just Norfolk, but the whole region took part in hundreds of community events and street parties. Whole communities coming together to celebrate the fantastic things that this great County has to offer.
Norfolk Day is supported by the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich Evening News and BBC Radio Norfolk.
